James Tompkins, M.D. Joins Cookeville Regional Medical Staff as Hospitalist

James Tompkins, M.D. has joined the staff at Cookeville Regional Medical Center as a new member of the hospitalist team. He will be specializing in and focusing solely on taking care of patients in the hospital.

Dr. Tompkins comes to Cookeville Regional Medical Center from Byrdstown Medical Center where he saw patients in a family medicine practice. He continues to serve as the medical director of the Pickett County Emergency Medical Services and as medical examiner in Pickett County. Previously he served as medical director of the Emergency Department at Livingston Regional Hospital.

He received his medical degree from East Tennessee State University James H. Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City and performed a residency in family medicine at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.

Dr. Tompkins is pleased to be serving the patients at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
